The Clinic Law Services Division at Legal Aid Ontario is pleased to inform you that a new legal clinic has opened. The Black Legal Action Centre (BLAC) will specialize in combatting individual and systemic anti-Black racism through the provision of legal aid services.
BLAC’s establishment fulfils LAO’s commitment to open a new specialty clinic with, and for, members of Ontario’s Black communities following the September 2017 defunding of the African Canadian Legal Clinic. LAO has now wound down the interim clinic law services put in place to maintain service levels prior to BLAC’s opening.
Individuals and referring agencies are encouraged to contact BLAC directly for relevant legal services. The attached notice provides additional details.
